Then it was on to Brisbane. Along the way we saw some fairly lovely, bare landscapes:

As it all passed by.

This really is what we see most of the time on tour. Except for the odd stop. When you finish a show at 2:30 am and have to soundcheck at 7:00 pm the next night, 900 km away, there is little time for taking in the sights. Which is a shame. The only place I've seen in Brisbane is fortitude valley and, sorry Brisbanians, it's awful. The venues are lovely, but they're havens away from the drunken, aggressive crowds that roam Brunswick street. Having "fucking jew" yelled at me while loading a van after a gig isn't my idea of an awesome night, misplaced though the insult might have been.
On the other hand, the Seabellies had a gig the same night at the Troubadour, so we got to hang out with them, which was as entertaining as usual. They've got a gig here tomorrow night, which means that yet again we're in competition of sorts with them for crowds. One day we'll get to share a gig again, once our respective bookers and agents decide that they want it to happen.
Oh, and Melbourne launch tomorrow night (Friday, 23rd May).

Sorry, mate, I wouldn't have yelled it out had I known that was you. I was drunk after a wild night at Bimbos.
Good luck for Melbourne launch.
See, it's your anti-semitism that will always come between us.
I've invited Hussan. I hope he comes, more because it would be cool to catch up, but I feel like we don't have enough of a thing going on for me to cold-call him.
